Eastern Norway Viken ÅL

Skitracks at Veståsen - Ål in Hallingdal

  •  /  km From You

Veståsen means 'west hill'; however it is also known as Sundreåsen (south hill), geographically more accurate as it lies to the south.

At Veståsen you are only 10 minutes from the centre of Ål. Dyna at 1212 masl is the highest peak in the area with amazing view to Hallingskarvet in west, Gaustatoppen in south and Reineskarvet and Jotunheimen in north.

Family friendly cross-country trails
Well prepared tracks run through forests and open marshland. The track network offers great opportunities for roundtrips of varying length. The picnic area in Svarthamarlia is very popular amongst families with small children and is a quick and easy ski trip away from the parking lot.

Veståsen also offer more challenging terrain towards Dyna and Sangefjell. You can also follow Hallingdalsløypa south to Nesbyen and Norefjell.

Driving descriptions
