Bathing place at Strandafjorden, Ål in Hallingdal

There are few things better on a warm summer day than to cool down with a swim in a river or in a mountain lake. There are several designated bathing areas in Ål, but you can also find your own favourites.

Lake Strandafjorden, 2 km west of central Ål heading towards Geilo. The turning is signposted from highway Rv7 at Vangebrua. There is a sandy shore with a diving board and grassy areas for picnics and relaxation.

When swimming outside a recognized bathing area along the river Hallingdalselva, remember that the flow of the river is regulated to produce hydropower and that the water flow suddenly can increase heavily without warning.
