Around Lake Rødungen
Roundtrip at Bergsjø - approx 17 km in highmountain terrain

When you come to Hallingmøbler, just follow the signs toward Bergsjø approx 20 km. Park by Slakteplassen (parkinglot before you reach Rødungstøl Høyfjellshotell) Parking against fee. We recommend you to go by the hotel and pick up a leaflet showing the cross-country tracks that are prepared in this area.

The trip starts gently by skiing over the lake Rødungen towards Varaldset for about 2 km. Then there is a bit of a climb up the mountains towards the point marked as Rødungen in the leaflet. Then follow the track on your righthand side skiing towards Smattan, Kjøle and Tvist. The track here is light highmountain terrain and you are at approx 1100 masl. The view towards Hallingskarvet is impeccable.

From Tvist you will have a nice downhill until you reach lake Rødungen again. The last part of the trip is over the lake until you arrive back at the parkinglot, approx 5 km.

Roundtrip Veståsen
5 km back and forth in light to medium terrain.

Drive from the train station 5,2 km up Vestlia in Ål.
The starting point for the tour is the parking lot at Hestkroken or Høgehaug 200 meters further in to Veståsen in Ål. Suitable for all ages. It is an easy skitrip to the picnic area Blåbærhaugen by Svarthammarlia. About 2 km from the parkinglot makes it suitable for families with children. Here you find a lavvo for 20 people, benches, firewood, sledges and sledging hills.

Those who want a longer trip can go to Bosset og enjoy the view. From there you can see Hallingskarvet, Reineskarvet, Lauvdalsbrea, Blåbergi, Såta, Grytingen and Skogshorn. The trail continues up on Grøthovda. Also a great viewpoint with Nysetknippen in west and Dyna 1212 masl.
Further goes the trail past Fjellheim with a nice downhill down Svarthammarlia back to Blåbærhaugen. A coffee break here maybe before proceeding 2 km back to the parking lot at Høgehaug.

Torpoåsen - starting point at Øknin
Roundtrip - 11 or 19 km in easygoing and childfriendly terrain.

From the centre of Torpo to the parking lot by Øknin it is approx 10m km. If you start from this point you have the ability to choose between several nice trips for families, combined with stops along the tracks. It is good to have picked up a map/leaflet over the area, which are to be found at several shops and the tourist information.

Round 1: This trip will take you around Øknevann and we recommend you to start the trip by skiing east towards Ringhovd. You will start off in some forest terrain but move over to open terrain. To Ringhovd it's about a 5,6 km. The track is slack and nice towards Gaurhovd, which has an open kiosk during Easter. This is a popular place to stop for a break.
Follow the track towards Buhovd and then back again to the parking lot by Øknin. This is a nice trip for families who fancies a simple but enjoyable trip. You can also find benches at the points of both Gaurhovd and Buhovd.

Round 2: Also this trip is quite easy, but longer. You can start at Øknin and follow the track towards Nystølane. Starting off in forest terrain but quickly moving toward open hightmountain terrain which lasts through out the trip. To Nystølane it's approx 3,8 km, then continue towards Opheimstølane which has an open kiosk during winter holidays and Easter. Further on to the point Grytingen (at approx 1200 m.a.s.) 3,3 km before you here will start your way back. Follow the signs towards Buhovd, and you will have a slack downhill for 6,4 km. For short breaks remember the benches by Nystølane, Opheimstølane, Grytingen and Buhovd.

Votndalsåsen - Kinnhovdløypa
A nice and easy trip with a good view - approx 6,8 km

Drive to Votndalen, then take off by the signs towards Løken and Sehlsvegen. Follow this road until you are at the parking lot at Åsetno. During this season you will find the parking lot a bit further north due to winter clearance of the road.

The track is sligthly hilly terrain suiting both young and old. You will also find the view over the surrounding areas astonoshing.
If you fancy the trip to be longer, you can combine this trip with both Gaukeliløypa in the north (9,1 km) and Skogsløypa in the south (7,9 km).

We can recommend you to bring with you a map/leaflet over the tracks of Liatoppen and Votndalsåsen.
