Good cross-country trails through birch forest and in open mountain landscape between Kvinnegardslia, Ål Skicenter and the Bergsjø area.
Cross-country tracks for those who loves to ski This area has an extensive network of cross-country ski tracks that pass through holiday villages set in birch forests before they climb up into the mountains. Liatoppen is the place to look for prepared tracks early in the season. There are tracks through the valley of Votndalen towards Bergsjø and Torpo-Opheimsåsen. The Northern Hallingdal track between Hol and Gol goes true this area.
Liatoppen Liatoppen ski centre is an impressive biathlon- and cross-country skiing arena meeting international standards. There is also a floodlit track at 9 km for those who like an evening ski trip. The centre hosts several cross-country and biathlon races during the winter season.
Toboggan hills About 500 metres from the stadium there is a skiplay area built up. Grill-hut, benches and fire pan can be found here.
The kiosk at Tormodset is open during winter holiday, week 8 and 9, weekends between winter holiday and Easter and Easter holiday at the following times:
Week 8 and 9 and weekends after that until Easter at kl 11.30 - 14.30 Easter holiday at kl 11.30 - 15.30
Driving directions Drive 3 km direction Oslo from the center of Ål. Follow the signpost to Vats/ Bergsjø. You can choose to follow the road to Liatoppen Skicentre or follow the road up to Votndalen. Follow the signpost to Votndalsvegen/ Skrindovegen. Or Fekjastølvegen/ Myset and Svarthamar.
It is toll road on the mountain roads to Votndalsåsen and Liagardane. More information regarding prices can be found on the toll road. There is often a parking fee for parking spots in the mountain area.
