Nystølen is possibly the best known and most popular starting point for cross country skiers. The area is known for the good quality of the tracks, and well suited for both long and short trips.
Nystølen (900-1250 masl.)
Tracks are prepared daily when needed (app. 50 km):
- Blue track
- Yellow track, short and long
- Red track to Langedrag around the Åkrefjell
- Båtstjernlia route, short and long
- The long Båtstjernlia route includes also 5 km of skating tracks.

From Nystølen café and ski lift, you have access to you about 100 km of prepared trails towards Brynhildstjern, Åkrefjell, Myking and Nesbyen Alpine Centre.
Large car park. The café is open every day from around December 20th.
Mechanical preparation of the slopes:
Preparation of skiing done as soon as snow conditions permitting, from about 1 November. Before Christmas, prepared slopes on the weekends. From 20 December is the trails groomed daily if needed until 25 April (as long as possible due to snow conditions).
