Self-guided day trip with an app. Biking through Bergen and hiking at Mt Ulriken (643 metres). Includes Ulriken cable car and fresh packed lunch.

Self-guided day tour. Experience both summit and sea level of Bergen, with a biking tour in the city, combined with hiking on the highest city mountain, Mt Ulriken (643 metres). 

This trip takes you through the city of Bergen by bicycle, where you will experience the city highlights at your own pace. 
You take the Ulriken cable car up to Mt Ulriken (643 metres). At the top, you can enjoy the view of the city before you start the hike. This route offers exciting cultural history as well as beautiful and wild highland nature and scenic views. To the south, you might see the Folgefonna glacier and to the west the North Sea. You will walk to “Turnerhytten” on one path and return on a different route, where you also will pass several ruins of old cabins. At the top of the Mt. Ulriken (643 metres), you can decide if you want to do a 1-hour or 3-hours hike. 

This is a self-guided tour, which means that you will be provided with an app, which guides you in the right direction and gives you information about the places you visit along the trail. 

Return to the city centre by Ulriken cable car and bike. 
The bike tour is around 16 km long and takes approx. 3 hours. 

Classification: green, easy 
The hike is around 4,5 km and takes approx. 2,5 hours to walk (+ half an hour lunch). The short hike is around 1,5-2 km and takes approx. 1 hour to walk.

Route info 
We have made a recommended biking route, which is easy to ride and is mostly along bike paths and flat roads. Be aware of approaching cars. This is a self-guided trip, which means that you will be provided with an app, which guides you in the right direction and gives you information about the places you visit along the trail.  

We recommend you make a stop at The Norwegian Fisheries Museum, Gamle Bergen (Bergen Old Town) and Mariakirken (St. Mary's Church). Follow Fjellveien (Mountain Road) to get a great view of the city.

Practical information 
Bikes and necessary equipment will be provided at Bergen Basecamp in the city centre. 
Bergen Base Camp will go through the equipment with you and adjust your bike before you leave. 
The bike must be delivered back to Bergen Base Camp at Bryggen before 19.00. 

What to wear and bring 
We recommend wearing sport shoes, warm and windproof clothing. Remember to dress according to the weather! 
Bring a bottle of water, camera and sunglasses.

10.00: Meeting at Bergen Base Camp (we are situated at Bryggen) for equipment and information 
10.30: Leaving Bergen Base Camp 
11.30: Visit Gamle Bergen (Old Bergen) approx. 4,5 km 
13.00: Gamle Bergen – Ulriken approx. 7,5 km 
14.00: Arrival at Mt. Ulriken 
15.00: Hiking in the area 
18.00: Biking Ulriken – city centre approx. 4 km 
19.00: Be back at Bergen Base Camp in the city centre (closes at 19.00) 
This is a recommended timetable, where we estimate that you take the 3-hours hiking trip. You can also do a 1-hour hike. However, you can manage your day as you like, but be aware that the bicycles need to be back at 19.00. 

Booking 
The tour can be booked until 12.00 the same day. 

Cancellation 
Full refund if cancelled up to 48 hours before the booked time.
