We take the express boat from Bergen city centre to Kleppestø on Askøy. From here, we walk to the highest point on the island and are rewarded with fantastic views of the Byfjord and the surrounding islands of Sotra and Øygarden and across to Bergen and its mountains. Although it requires some exertion, this may be the shortest and easiest walk that provides the best views of all the walks around Bergen.
This is an easy walk that is suitable for everyone. We stop en route and enjoy the view of the fjord, and being away from the crowds of tourists. If children come along on the walk, we will tell them stories about goblins and trolls.
