One of the most scenic cycle rides in Norway! Rallarvegen dates from the time the navvies used it as a road during the construction of the Bergen Railway.
Tour Highlights:
The Bergen Railway - mountain crossing Haugastol - Finse - Fagernut - Klevagjelet - Myrdal, Flam valley
Spectacular and scenic nature experiences along the Rallarvegen from Haugastøl/Finse to Flåm.
Finse is located 1222 metres above sea level and is Bergensbanen railway's highest stopping point. At Finse you may visit the navvy museum 'Rallarmuséet' (from the construction of the Bergen Railway 1871-1909).
Another interesting stop is at Fagernut Vokterbolig, which dates from 1904 (1310 metres above sea level). Here you will find a Rallarcafé and an exhibition about the life as a signalman high in the mountains.
The Klevabrua bridge is a beautiful and impressive bridge, with stone arches that you should take a closer look at before bicycling down the wild and exciting Klevagjelet trail and further to Vatnahalsen and Flåm.
