The world's oldest sailing galleon
The Galleon Loyal was built in Rosendal in 1877. It is a two-mast, carvel-built sailing ship, 85 feet in length, and in contrast to a galleon-rigged Jakt, this ship is a real galleon. It is thought to be the oldest in the world still used for sailing. Even when first launched she was highly regarded and was soon nicknamed "The White Galleon". You don’t need to be an old sea-dog to appreciate the ships beautiful hull and sinuous lines. The Galleon is fully restored and is a fantastic vessel for pleasure trips, entertainment, team building and corporate events, or even overnight arrangements.
