2-day electric bike tour across Aursjøvegen
An adventure know to be a tougher challenge than Trollstigen, but the reward is a unique bike ride on a quiet gravel road. A hidden gem!
Join in on a delightful cycling adventure from fjord to fjord, across a spectacular highland landscape. The tour is suitable for both adults and children.
Day 1
The tour starts in Sunndalsøra, and the first stretch takes you into Litldalen and up onto the plateau. There will be several stops along the way, including a visit to Torbuvollen, before you reach your destination for the day: Aursjøhytta Mountain Lodge. This is a staffed tourist cabin (KNT), which is also where you will be staying for the night.
On this day, you will climb from 0 meters above sea level to 860 meters, but at a leisurely pace suitable for everyone in the group. Total cycling distance: 43 km.
Day 2
The next day you wake up in a mountainous landscape with fresh, clean air. Here you can find peace for your morning coffee and energy for the day's stage. The cycling stage starts slowly, over a relatively flat area. There will be several stops along the way, and if the weather is good, you can dare yourself to a refreshing dip in one of the potholes you pass on the way.
Then comes the highlight of the road: Aurstaupet viewpoint. Here there is a longer stop, so be sure to have enough battery on your camera. The bike ride then continues gently down the hairpin bends to Finnset and Eikesdalen. The tour ends with a visit to Mardalsfossen before you are picked up in Eikesdalen and driven back to Sunndalsøra.
