Welcome to Eggen Restaurant, 708 metres above sea level at the top of the Nesaksla mountain above Åndalsnes. Take the Romsdalsgondola up to the top.
At Eggen Restaurant, you can enjoy a 360-degree fjord view, and the the impressive mountains Romsdalshorn, Vengetindene, Åndalsnes town centre, lush valleys and the emerald green Rauma river. In the restaurant you can enjoy the view along with a delicious meal. You can also explore the area at the top, with short walks that lead to several viewing points. A new way to experience the fantastic views of the mountains and fjord in Romsdalen! Just up from the town centre of Åndalsnes, and surrounded by the famous Romsdal mountains, you will arrive at the top of Nesaksla mountain, at 708 metres above sea level. The Romsdal gondola, a state-of-the-art electric cable car, takes you 1679 metres up the mountainside from the fjord. This is also Norway's first gondola built on sustainability principles.
A 5 minute gondola ride with Romsdalen Gondola from the fjord to Nesaksla. Coffee, cake, lunch or dinner can be purchased at the top. You have time to enjoy the wonderful views, and walk along the paths, before heading back down to Åndalsnes. You can take the gondola down or you may choose a hike back to the harbour along a steep path with some steps. If you walk down you will also pass the Rampestreken viewpoint.
