Høgfjellet mountain in Tingvoll
Høgfjellet, 680 meters above sea level, is one of the highest peak in the outer part of Tingvoll Municipality. It has a relatively steady steep incline on a large part of the trip up. From the top you get an amazing view especially towards the Tingvoll fjord and towards Gjemnes.
The trail up to the mountain farm, Hammersetra, is a partially marked trail. From Hammersetra the trail continues behind the farm. After about 100 meters the trail parts in two, you can easily make a mistake. You should follow the trail that goes to the left towards Gammelvetten. From Gammelvetten up to the top, the trail goes fairly steeply along the ridge towards the top of Høgfjellet.
On your way down you can go in southwest direction. When you reach the flat area, continue to the southeast direction. If you walk on the same height along the hillside, you will get to the path to Hammersetra, where you came from.
