Digergubben (527 masl) is one of the popular stone stairs in Midsund! Sherpas from Nebal have been working on this stone stairs, and this work is worth the trip alone.
And of course a fantastic view to mountains, fjord and ocean.
Steep terrain, but with the stairs this hike makes it possible for many to do this trip. The stairs goes to Mount DIgergubben (527 masl). The stairs are a bit high now and then. Several places you will also find nice places to sit down on stone benches. From "Kumlokket" towards the Midsundvatnet lake, the path also has some steep sections. Some gravel stone in this part of the trip as well. About 100 meters from the Midsund lake, the path devides, continue to the left (to the right direction Midsundhornet). A small stone bridge is crossing a stream, and the the stairs continues towards Digergubben. The landscape flattens a bit before the last part with some steeper parts again the last 400 meters.
Parking ny the signs/starting point, and also a sign indicating alternative parking areas in the nearby area.
This is the four Midsund stairs:
Digergubben is one of the four Midsundtrappene, on Otrøya and Midøya island. They are all build by sherpas from Nepal and are an impressive construction that will be enjoyed for hundreds of years.
Rørsethornet 659 masl - Norway's longest continuous stone staircase.
Digergubben 527 masl - straight up from Midsund center, can also be combined with Midsundhornet 483 masl.
Bløkallen 522 masl - perhaps the nicest trip along the old Kløvstien? Tour start on Midøya.
Aksla & Akslahornet - the shortest trip to the viewpoint Aksla, challenging on to Akslahornet.
