Glamping at OlsenNaustet

Welcome to the spectacular setting of  the old boathouse, the OlsenNaustet, where you will find peace of mind the moment you set your feet inside the building! We promise!

The beautifully weatherbeaten old boathouse, with its original structure from around 1770, sits at the end of the old fishing-village of Veiholmen, with swaying grass on the roof, overlooking the ocean like an old lady waiting for her fisherman-husband  to return home.

The building has been fitted with large windows on 3 sides, thus  bringing the magnificent nature and surroundings literally into the boathouse.

Here we  are able to offer accomodation for 2 persons in lovely beds on floor level  up in the open loft which is reached by a solid and attached  ladder, hence the reference to glamping (glamorous camping).

From the comfy bed you will have a birdseye view over the sea  and shoreline surrounding the boathouse, while being lulled into sleep or meditation by the sound of the wind and the waves.

In the large open, yet intimate room on the groundfloor, you may either enjoy a good meal around the large dining-table or relax in  comfortable chairs with the logburner  throwing  lovely light and warmth into the room. Heated highly polished concrete-floor adds to the charm of the building.

A rustic, yet modern kitchen is installed and the bathroom has a goodsized shower and heating cables.

From the outdoor area  as well as from inside, you may enjoy the constantly changing seaview  from the OlsenNaust, combined with the magic light to be found at Smøla throughout the year.

During the Winter-months , the Northern light may dance  just in front  of your eyes  to the North over the old lighthouse,  and during the warmer months there  are  lovely sunsets to be witnessed from the OlsenNaust.

Seaeagles fly by and hunt from the island just in front of the boathouse, and a seal or an otter may swim by.

There is no doubt:  this is the perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries!

Come glamp with us!
