Rastarkalv - a viking battlefield

Rasterkalv, an ancient battlefield, is located close to Frei Church. This was the site of a battle in 955 AD between the Viking king Håkon the Good and Eiriksønnene, the sons of Eirik.
Håkon conquered his opponents, but Egil Ullserk (Egil Woolshirt), Håkon's most important ally, died and was buried at Rastarkalv. 3 memorial stones commemorating Egil stands on the hill, next to the church.
