Romsdalsstigen Via Ferrata is currently being built on the mountain Nesaksla right in the town centre of Åndalsnes.
The Via Ferrata will consist of two different climbing routes, facilitated with a continuous cable and steps, making climbing safe and achievable for everyone. The return back to town follows the popular hiking path down the Nesaksla mountain.
The Romsdalsstigen Intro wall route is the perfect introduction to Via Ferrata climbing, where you move out of the comfort zone into a more stimulating and memorable experience. The climb takes 3 hrs return, and does not require any previous climbing experience. You will be guided by professionals and secured to the mountain by cable throughout. Minimum age: 10 yrs.
The Romsdalsstigen West wall is a much more challenging Via Ferrata experience. Reasonable fitness and ability required. The climb takes you to the top of Nesaksla, where you get a magnificent view of the Romsdalen valley. The climb is more exposed, vertical and thrilling, as well as including an airy bridge crossing. The West wall route takes 7 hrs return, and is a fully professional guided ascent secured to the mountain by cable always. Minimum age: 13 yrs.
The Romsdalsstigen Via Ferrata is due to open in September 2017.
