The Atlantic Road - walking path

The Atlantic Road is one of Norway's most famous National Scenic Routes, winding through the dramatic coastal landscape. One of the highlights along the route is the Svevestien trail on Eldhusøya, a 550-meter-long path that offers an easy and accessible walk right at the water's edge.

The trail around Eldhusøya provides spectacular views of the sea and landscape. It consists of a metal grid that seemingly floats above the terrain, with a foundation supported by piles. This creates a airy and safe experience, regardless of the weather. The Svevestien is well designed and suitable for all – perfect for a quick detour on your journey.

On Eldhusøya, you will also find the largest rest area on the Atlantic Road, beautifully located in the coastal gap. The service building features exciting architecture and houses a café, tourist information, and restrooms. There is ample parking space, allowing you to take your time exploring the area.
