The family forest cycling route in Aukraskogen (4 km)

Experience the beech forest on a bike surrounded by golden hues during autumn or listen to birds singing in the calming spring ambience of the forest. Embrace the peace and quiet as a gentle breeze sweeps through the forest treetops. If you are lucky, you might see a deer or two along the forest trail!

Enjoy the scenic ferry journey from Hollingen to Aukra ferry port and follow the road signs to Aukra administrative centre. If you are visiting during springtime, you will see the beautiful daffodil field in full bloom as you pass by Aukra church. The church is open to visitors during summer, although it is recommended to contact the tourist information at Aukra Kulturhus for updated opening hours. Keep cycling until you reach the parking lot located in between Aukrahallen sport centre and the church, where you will find the trailhead to the forest cycling route. Choose between different forest routes on gravel paths or soft forest trails. If you cycle straight through the first intersection, and make a left at the next, you will find a cosy lean-to shelter on the right-hand side. Relax on the benches and enjoy your lunch while breathing in the forest air. Cycle back to the ferry port or extend your cycling trip by cycling towards Berghaugen, where you will get a beautiful ocean view. Continue onwards down Tangevegen before returning to the ferry port.
