Experience the breathtaking Mardalsfossen, with a 297-metre free-fall drop and a total height of 655 metres. Witness its full power from 20th June to 20th August.

Nestled in the stunning Eikesdalen valley, Mardalsfossen is a sight to behold. With a total height of 655 metres, including a spectacular 297-metre free fall, it ranks as one of the tallest waterfalls by free -falling drop in the world. Surrounding the waterfall, the dramatic peaks of the Eikesdalen mountains rise between 1,500 to 1,800 metres straight from the serene Eikesdalsvatnet lake, which sits just 26 metres above sea level.

From late June to late August, water is released from the hydroelectric plant, transforming Mardalsfossen into a roaring cascade that attracts visitors from near and far. Even outside of the release season, the sheer height and striking landscape make it a compelling destination for nature enthusiasts.
