At the very edge of the Atlantic ocean, on the north side of the beautiful island of Smøla, you will find the charming fishing village of Veiholmen.
The Olsen Guesthouse is located in the heart of the old village and is open throughout the year.It has been completely renovated with 2 modern bathrooms, 3 double and 2 single rooms, in delicate colours with all practical amenities.
The atmosphere in the house is cosy with heating-cables in the floors downstairs which together with the small logburner in the living room ensure that even though it is cold and windy outside, it will be lovely and snug inside.
The kitchen is spacious and traditionally painted, and meals can be taken (for up to 12 persons) on the glassveranda overlooking the sea and the streets of Veiholmen. One feels outside, yet sitting inside!
The Olsen Guesthouse has no disturbing TVs, but good wireless internet makes it easy to stay connected to the rest of the world, even though while at Veiholmen, one tends to forget that there is an outside world!
Within a 200 meter radius of the Guesthouse, through the cosy streets of Veiholmen, there are 2 shops and small charming cafe, popular bar and restaurant as well as the local museum (open upon request). For groups in excess of 8 persons there are several opportunities to supply extra rooms at fine guesthouses/pensions close by, including our own OlsenNaustet; a charming old boathouse recently renovated to sleep 2 persons in a cosy atmosphere with stunning views and all practical facilities.
Visiting Smøla and Veiholmen you may experience peace and quiet, the ocean and the nature as well as a number of nature - based activities like sea eagle safari, kayacking, deep sea fishing, birdwatching, diving and more via professional operators . See our website for more links to these operators.
