Fossberg, at the entrance to the Hattebergsdalen valley.

Parking
Drive past the Baroniet to the parking lot at Fossberg by the entrance to the Hattebergsdalen valley.

Marking
Information Board by the parking lot.
The route goes first on 2 km of gravel road without markings, and then turns into a path with T markings and signs up Murabotnen.

Grading
Red
Moderate hike, three boots according to the DNT system.

Difference in altitude

Recommended advice
When the water flow is high, the stream in Murabotnen can be difficult to cross. There is an incline above the stream. An alternative for returning the same way may be the path from Malmangernuten directly down to Rosendal. See the Malmangernuten route, from Rosendal.
