Panoramic Glacier Hike - Folgefonni Glacier Team

Take part in a glacier hike with a stunning panoramic view. This tour takes you through a unique glacier and national park landscape with an exciting natural and cultural history.

From mid-June to mid-August, the Panorama Glacier Hike is a daily offer. The hike starts at the Folgefonna service center Fonna1199, is 3-4 km long, and takes about 3-4 hours in total. The height difference is about 250 meters.

Halfway, on the glacier plateau and with a panoramic view of the North Sea, the Roendals Alps, and the Folgefonna National Park, you will have a lunch break. Your experienced tour guide will be happy to share his knowledge of cultural history, geology, and climate with you. On the return hike, you have a beautiful view of the impressive fjord landscape.

The lowest age limit for participation is seven years; the hike will always be adapted to the level of the group. To reach the starting point of the glacier hike, you drive the 19 km long glacier road, leading from Jondal center all the way up to the glacier (toll road). The panorama glacier hike can also be done as a day trip from Bergen.

In addition to the guide service, the price also includes all the necessary glacier equipment (crampons, ice ax, harness, helmet) and, if required, sturdy mountain boots. You must bring warm, wind- and waterproof clothing, gloves, and a daypack; hiking boots if you have. Sunglasses and sunscreen are also important on the glacier! Missing equipment, you can also rent or buy from the Folgefonni Glacier Team. On request (in good time before the trip and at an additional cost), the Glacier Team will be happy to provide a Lunch package for you, but you can also bring food and drinks yourself.
