Steep and demanding hike to Gullbergnotten with exceptional views towards Jondal and the fjord.
Starting point
Take road 550 to the north from Jondal centre. After 1.4 km you arrive at a short tunnel (pedestrians are allowed to pass through this tunnel). Pineskår is immediately after the tunnel. There is parking space on the left hand side (sea-side) of the road. Please do not obstruct the gates for the waste disposal plant. On the opposite side of the road you can find the information board and the hiking sign, marking the route to Gullbergnotten. Parking at own risk.
About the trail
The hike, which is mainly in dry terrain, takes you into the Gullbergnotten nature reserve. The first half of the hike goes through the woods on a steep and sometimes demanding track. Assisting steps have been made in two places. After a while the track flattens out and the woods open up. The path continues through pine forest, heather and bare rock up to Gullbergnotten. Superb views of the village of Jondal and the fjord. You can choose to continue on the hike "Gullbergnotten-Selsvik".
