Starting point
Hjølmaberget, turning off from route 7 in Øvre Eidfjord towards Hjølmo. Only private cars may drive up to Hjølmaberget. The road up to Hjølmaberget is a 10 km long narrow, steep and winding gravel road for experienced drivers.
About the trail
Follow the T-marked trail to Vivelid, then to Fljotdal, and return over Såtefjell (close to Storesåta and Vetlesåta) to Hjølmaberget. You may stop at Vivelid mountain lodge for a meal and a cup of coffee during their opening season. Impressive views from Mt Såtefjell (Storesåta and Vetlesåta) over mountains, fjords and glaciers. A shorter and easier alternative is to return directly from Vivelid mountain lodge.
