13 Dager i April - film
Hear the last witnesses tell about the fighting in April 1940 - 13 intense days against the German invasion. A powerful story of resistance and survival!
Get tickets hereTogether with 800 soldiers from IR2 and eventually almost as many from the battalion in Rogaland, a force is assembled to slow down the German advance during World War II.
The only problem is that the commander, Colonel Spørck, has gone to the mountains and given orders for all the soldiers to follow him up the Sirdalen valley to continue the march over the mountains to Setesdalen in several metres of snow without skis.
But that didn't happen, as his subordinate, Major Fredrik Brandt, took over the entire operation and sent the untrained but brave Norwegian youths forward to block the way for the German forces at Figgjo and Bjerkreim. The Germans don't appreciate this and launch a frontal attack, and the fighting rages on for a few days. More than 300 aeroplane bombs are dropped on the Norwegian main force in Dirdal.
Now the last ten surviving war veterans who took part in the fighting are telling us what happened on those 13 days in April 1940.
