In connection with this year's emigration celebrations, Randaberg Public Library invites you to an exciting literature evening with Aud Jorunn Aano. She will give you an insight into the emigrant novels of two of Norway's most prominent authors in this genre - Edvard Hoem and Alfred Hauge.
Through their books, we get powerful depictions of the many Norwegians who left their homeland in search of a new and better life in America. What drove them to travel? What challenges did they face on the other side of the Atlantic? And how have these stories been communicated in Norwegian literature? These are some of the questions Aud Jorunn will address this evening.
Aud Jorunn Aano is an experienced and engaging communicator with long experience as a librarian at Sølvberget in Stavanger. Many will also remember her from her time as library manager in Randaberg. With her deep insight into Norwegian literature and her ability to communicate literary themes in a lively way, she will give the audience an inspiring and educational experience.
Welcome to an evening where you can dive into the stories of those who took the plunge into the unknown - and how these stories still affect people today.
This event will be mainlyspoken in Norwegian
