"The Price of Love – On Parkinson’s, Dementia, and Us"

In The Price of Love – On Parkinson’s, Dementia, and Us, former journalist Arnt Even Bøe shares the story of what happened to him and his wife when illness struck. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at just 51 years old. Nineteen years later, dementia followed, marking the final chapter of her life 2.5 years later.

In this book, he provides a poignant and deeply personal account of the thoughts and emotions surrounding these diseases, which slowly but relentlessly destroyed their lives. Many will find his experiences relatable. Yet, life was not without moments of light—his story also includes cherished memories of kindness, care, and love from those around them.

A lecture by journalist and author Arnt Even Bøe about his book on the illness that affected his family.
