Two-day calligraphy course with Bas Vlam at Utstein Monastery 

Join in on a unique journey into the world of calligraphy with experienced calligraphy master Bas Vlam. In the historic surroundings of Utstein Monastery, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the art of writing - from medieval handwritten texts to magnificent illuminated letters.  

Saturday 26 April, 10am-5pm  
The day focuses on letters and text inspired by history. Participants will recreate a medieval font and write as monks and nuns did hundreds of years ago.  

Sunday 27 April, 10am-5pm  
The day is dedicated to the art of illumination, where participants create beautiful decorated letters. They'll take home little art treasures and a new appreciation of how aesthetic and detailed writing can be.  

The course includes an equipment package and a delicious 2-course lunch at Utstein Kloster Hotell on both days. This is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in calligraphy in inspiring surroundings. Welcome to a weekend filled with creativity and historical craftsmanship!
