Christmas for Cowboys consists of musicians from the bands Helldorado, The Tramps, Flying Shoes and The Brigade. It started 10 years ago with the Christmas album ‘Christmas for Cowboys’, which is a tribute to all good Christmas music. And we don't mean the more glossy Christmas music that dominated (and still dominates?).

Over the years, these concerts have become a tradition for an increasingly large audience, and now the 10th anniversary is being marked with a festive performance in Kuppelhallen where, in addition to Christmas for Cowboys, guest artists from previous years have also been invited. There will be a reunion with Rita Eriksen, Silje Vige and Erlend Aarsland, among others.

Christmas For Cowboys was released on CCAP in December 2016 and received great reviews from The Wilhelmsens and others: ‘Christmas For Cowboys is the finest Christmas album you're going to hear this year, if you have just a slight penchant for country and rock, and appreciate one of the world's finest voices.’ In 2023, the sequel ‘Christmas for Cowboys vol. 2’ was released and in December 2025 a ‘best of’ live recording (recorded during the concerts at Spor 5 December 2024) will be released.

After the Christmas concert in 2016, Odd Bjerga wrote the following: ‘I had a fantastic dream last night. I dreamt I was at a concert with a band called ‘The Flying Heldorado Tramps Brigade - With Shoes’, or something like that. And the concert was an Eldorado with 12-15 fantastic musicians with all kinds of instruments, and only the best melodies performed by the best vocalists. There was only one minus with the whole thing: The concert ended! I had to pinch my arm to check if it was actually a dream. That's when I woke up - and realised that it wasn't a dream at all. I was there and experienced the fantastic concert. Now you can regret, those of you who weren't there. And you might have to wait a whole year - while I can live on this for a whole year.’
