Tønes, or Frank Tønnesen as he is actually named, hails from Sokndal and is one of Norway’s best songwriters and lyricists. His lyrics, written in the Sokndal dialect, tell quirky and humorous stories about both big and small things.
Tønes has released 8 albums, 4 EPs, and written his own book. He has won the Prøysen Prize, the Dialect Prize, and now 4 Spellemann Awards (3 for Folk and 1 for Lyrics).
Anne Lise Frøkedal is a musician, vocalist, and songwriter.
In June 2024, Frøkedal & Familien released the critically acclaimed album Stay.
Frøkedal was the vocalist and front figure of Harrys Gym from 2006 to 2013 and, together with Frode Strømstad, has been at the core of I Was A King since 2009. She debuted as a solo artist in 2015, releasing her debut album Hold on Dreamer the following year, which earned her a nomination for the 2016 Spellemann Award in the Indie category. She released her second solo album, How We Made It, in 2018 and Flora under the name Frøkedal & Familien in 2021. Flora was nominated for the 2021 Spellemann Award in the Alternative Pop/Rock category.
