If we take a little trip "northbound" along the coast, we do not need to travel long before we get to Bergen and a well established jazz environment. One of the really central persons here, is Eivind Austad. "Northbound" is also the title of Eivind Austad's new critically acclaimed album of the year. Austad, originally from Stavanger, has a long time as a central university lecturer in jazz piano, composition, ensemble play and more at
The Grieg Academy at UiB where he is contributing valuable jazz talents for their further careers. In September, the jazz artist performs on stage with his own trio together with two really experienced guys from the Norwegian jazz scene - bassist Magne Thormodsæter and drummer Håkon Mjåset Johansen. It was also these two he invited on his debut album "Moving" from 2015, and together they master the trio format to the fullest.
