Join Husflidslaget and make skipping ropes the traditional way!

In collaboration with Randaberg Husflidslag, we invite you to a Family Saturday focused on activities and games from the past.

Come to the town square and make your own skipping rope, just like they did long before plastic and synthetic fibres were used. The technique is the same as rope-making on a ropewalk. We twist two strands together, then twist them again to form a rope. We use fabric strips or selvage edges—old bed linen or fabric scraps that would otherwise go to waste.

Husflidslaget provides both guidance and materials.
