The Gisle Myklebust Quartet (GMQ) continues to evolve its musical repertoire and has for several years collaborated with saxophonist Richard Arntzen. This year, the band has also started working with guitarist Alf Terje Hana. New original music has been developed for this extended line-up. The soundscape still has roots in the 70s, but is now coloured by Alf Terje's innovative guitar playing. This collaboration further elevates the electronic jazz format the band has been exploring in recent years.
GMQ Plus now consists of:
Gisle Myklebust – saxophones, flute, and bass clarinet
Rolf Hinderaker – Fender Rhodes, Nord 3
Øystein Eldøy – bass
Karsten Tillerli – drums
Richard Arntzen – saxophones, EWI
Alf Terje Hana – guitar
Alf Terje is a musician from Stavanger with an international profile and likely needs no further introduction.
GMQ Plus focuses on groovy tunes with electronic sound textures and tight interplay, high energy levels, and solos where all musicians showcase their uniqueness.
Doors open at 18:30 with Violetas pizza for sale.
