Under Trump, the USA has increased pressure on Latin America. Small boats with alleged drug cargoes are bombed off Venezuela; election interference takes place openly; and countries are threatened into accepting deported migrants from all over the world. But what does Trump actually want in Latin America, and what are the consequences of Trump’s threats for the region’s development?
