The saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins from Philadelphia, USA, was showered with praise and awards following his debut album Omega on Blue Note in 2020. Since then, he has continued to establish himself as one of jazz’s leading alto saxophonists, composers, and bandleaders.

Wilkins and his quartet bring a fresh, dynamic, and playful sound. Constantly seeking new forms of expression, he has collaborated not only with musicians but also with filmmakers, painters, and sculptors. This creativity has resulted in a few more outstanding, yet quite different, albums since his debut—most recently Blues Blood, where vocalists shape a sound that crosses traditional genres such as soul, jazz, and blues.

Beyond his own projects, Wilkins is also in high demand as a saxophonist for other major artists. Wynton Marsalis, Solange, and Jason Moran are just a few who have invited him to perform live or record in the studio.
