Let 2025 be the year you truly become the "boss of your own life"!
Ingvard Wilhelmsen talks about how one should handle pressure, change, uncertainty, and risk. Most of what happens in life is beyond one's control, but how one responds to what happens is something one can decide for oneself. Many people spend far too much time on unproductive thoughts, but they are responsible for which thoughts they act upon. Most of their thoughts are simply nonsense—worrying about things that will never happen. Ingvard challenges how one relates to these thoughts. If anyone is going to be the boss of your life, it has to be one self!
Confront unnecessary worries and bothersome headaches.
This will, in turn, give one more energy to focus on what life has to offer. There is a lot of luck and many factors that determine how good life will be, so it's worth putting one's energy into the things one can actually influence.
Ingvard Wilhelmsen is a professor emeritus at the University of Bergen and a specialist in internal medicine and psychiatry. For 24 years, he ran the renowned Hypochondria Clinic in Bergen and has written several books, including Livet er et usikkert prosjekt (Life is an Uncertain Project), Sjef i eget liv (Boss of Your Own Life), Kongen anbefaler (The King Recommends), and Det er ikke mer synd på deg enn andre (You’re No Worse Off Than Others).
