Jarle Obrestad – Debut Rock Album Coming in 2025

Most know singer-songwriter Jarle Obrestad from Vind i Gardhol and recent albums in collaboration with poet and lyricist Helge Torvund. From April 2025, he will release a new rock track each month until the end of the year. Expect catchy, high-energy rock with distinct guitar riffs, striking choruses, and lyrics open to interpretation.

Obrestad personally handles the pre-production of all tracks before they are recorded in the studio by a hand-picked group of skilled musicians, ensuring nothing is left to chance. Producer and engineer Jørgen Manke, who has worked on earlier albums, returns. Final mastering is done by Pete Maher in London.

The lyrics are the product of a close, long-standing collaboration with Jan Terje Einarsmo from Mandal. The two met while studying social work in Rogaland. In addition to writing lyrics, they now also build carbon instruments together.

Obrestad was the guitarist in Jærrock from 1977 to 1987.
