With the brand new Combo 66 album in the bag, John Scofield puts out on an exclusive Norway tour in May.

This is a collaboration between Maijazz, Bodø Jazz Open, National Jazz Scene in Oslo and Arendal Jazz Club.

It's actually a while since Guitarist John Scofield was in Stavanger. In 2011 he was at Maijazz together with the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. Now he has managed to get up in the sixties, but the best Scofield just gets cooler the older he gets! His distinctive sound and style makes him easy to recognize. The melodic approach, the innovative style of play and his capacity as a composer has given John Scofield a great audience. The list of collaborators is necessarily long after many years as a sought after guitarist. We are pleased to mention the cooperation with Miles Davis from 1982 to 1986.
The website AllAboutJazz.com comes with the following striking description of the American:
«..Not only does Scofield play better than he ever has-have plenty of surprises still up his sleeve, but that he may well be moving in a direction where the myriad of music he loves is now all fair game, all while still remaining firmly in the jazz sphere. »(AllAboutJazz.com)
