In this lecture, Kvindesland presents his latest book, offering a comprehensive historical insight into the Iran-Israel conflict. He explains its origins, what drives it, and its global impact. A key point in his book is that, despite being bitter enemies today, Iran and Israel share deep historical and cultural ties. Once close allies, they have a common Jewish heritage little known to the world. Yet today, they compete for dominance in the Middle East through diplomacy, espionage, and hybrid warfare. The book is based on research in Persian and Hebrew sources, revealing new knowledge previously unknown in Norway and beyond.

About the author:

Eirik Kvindesland holds a PhD in history from the University of Oxford, specialising in Jews in the Persian Gulf and the emergence of the Palestine-Israel conflict. He has published numerous academic articles on Iran and the Middle East and frequently appears as a commentator in Norwegian and international media.
