Yilian Canizares Trio

Yilian Canizares is a formidable stage personality that we finally have the opportunity to hear again in Stavanger. She is one of the most innovative violinists on the international jazz and world music scene. Her music is an exciting meeting place between her birthplace Cuba, jazz, classical music and African-inspired tones. In addition to being an accomplished violinist, Yilian Canizares is also a talented composer. Her own compositions are often a fusion of different musical traditions, and she uses music to tell stories about her own culture and experiences. Her songs are both melodic and rhythmically driving.
