Margo Cilker is coming to Stavanger and Folken, Grottene. The American singer-songwriter has gained significant attention for her down-to-earth lyrics and unique blend of folk, country, and Americana. Her second album, Valley of Heart’s Delight, refers to a place she can no longer return to: California’s Santa Clara Valley, once famous for its orchards before being overtaken by asphalt and technology, becoming better known as Silicon Valley than for its apricots. On this follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2021 album Pohorylle, Cilker weaves together themes of family and nature—both precious and endangered, beautiful and exhausting.

For this record, Cilker and producer Sera Cahoone reunited most of the esteemed musicians from her previous album—session players for The Decemberists, Band of Horses, and Beirut—along with contributions from the respected Northwest traditionalist Caleb Klauder. Valley of Heart’s Delight, her second release under the Portland, Oregon-based label Fluff & Gravy Records, has already earned numerous accolades and year-end best-of placements. The album has paved the way for an extensive tour and festival appearances throughout 2024.

Margo Cilker resides near the Columbia River in Goldendale, Washington, with her husband, songwriter and cowboy Forrest VanTuyl, along with their dog and a few horses.
