Get tickets hereIn January, Reasons to Hang Around turns 20, and Minor Majority celebrates with an anniversary tour performing the album in its entirety. The concert is in two parts: first, the band plays the album being celebrated, followed by selected songs from the rest of their career.
Reasons to Hang Around received glowing reviews upon its release in January 2006. The album debuted at number two on the VG-lista charts, went gold, and produced four major radio hits in Norway: “Let the Night Begin,” “Come Back to Me,” “Supergirl,” and “Alison.”
The opening track, “Wish You’d Hold That Smile,” also became an unexpected hit on French radio, helping the band gain a large audience in France. The album repeatedly appeared on year-end best-of lists in the music press in late 2006. In winter 2007, it won the Spellemann Award for “Best Pop Group.”
Vocalist and songwriter Pål Angelskår says:
“Reasons to Hang Around may be our best collection of songs and without a doubt our most far-reaching album. The catalogue contains a popular album that can draw both old and new listeners into our universe and allows continued touring both domestically and in Europe.”
