Oliver Hohlbrugger’s critically acclaimed album Nothing’s Changed, Everything Is New was released in April and celebrated with a sold-out solo show at Martinique.
For this return concert at Martinique, Hohlbrugger will be joined by string musicians:
-
Renate Engevold – violin
-
Benedicte Årsland – cello
Nothing’s Changed, Everything Is New draws on a range of styles and musical eras, blending jazz, post-rock, new wave, and avant-garde. Wrapped in dreamy nostalgia echoing the ’70s and ’80s, with Bowie-esque angles and moments of experimentation—yet always melodic—the album feels both familiar and sharply modern. It was recorded in a deserted manor house in Jæren, Elektrolüd in Stavanger, and Brooklyn, New York, and evokes a cinematic night drive through glowing intersections, shadowy backstreets, and empty neon-lit roads in search of an off-ramp.
Praise for the album:
