Dziga Vertov's 1929 film is a documentary about himself, a film about a man with a camera among people on the streets of Russia.

There is no plot, only an eye that observes what is happening, but at a high pace and in an unusually lively sequence of scenes and cuts. The film was innovative with its many new editing techniques. One can also see the man filming, and even his camera and tripod appear as characters of their own. This film also offers a unique, unfiltered glimpse into people's daily lives nearly 100 years ago.

Nils Henrik Asheim improvises new music for the film using the organ and some computer control.
