Pushwagnergruppen – The DADAPØNK Phenomenon

The fresh DADAPØNK band Pushwagnergruppen made a sensational debut in autumn 2024. Their first-ever concert at a packed Revolver in Oslo also marked the release of their debut album. Not long after, they were booked for the industry festival Vill Vill Vest in Bergen, where they made headlines when their lead singer smashed one of the venue’s wall-mounted artworks during their performance.

Now, they are releasing their second album, DADALAND—an uncompromising dadaist punk album that defies expectations and shakes things up.

With explosive concerts in Oslo, Bergen, Stavanger, and Trondheim, Pushwagnergruppen has made a name for itself as a thrilling live band. Some see them as a raw punk trio stripped down to just drums, bass, and screams, while others describe them as a dadaist and absurdist madhouse.

Both perspectives might be right. Swedish music site Alt77 called them “Norway’s answer to Fugazi”, while others have compared them to Turbonegro and Honningbarna. The band has been praised by Bergen Student Radio and even featured in a two-page spread in Stavanger Aftenblad.
