This work aims to highlight, inspire curiosity, and generate knowledge about transgender individuals. 71BODIES 1DANCE emphasises the diversity within each personal journey, exploring societal complexities on a human level through artistic expression.
71BODIES 1DANCE is a multidisciplinary and choreographic initiative by Daniel Mariblanca. The piece is inspired by 71 personal experiences and testimonies from transgender and non-binary individuals living in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Spain.
The performance emerges from these 71 personal stories, which form the foundation of the work. It is rooted in the physical body—its qualities and textures. No distractions or embellishments—just the body and its physicality. The naked body becomes an emotional space, holding vulnerability, strength, shame, pleasure, intimacy, and empowerment.
Through this production, the intention is to highlight, inspire curiosity, and generate knowledge about transgender bodies on a human level—through an artistic lens. By revealing different ways of being, the performance aims to provide insight into new references and ways of appreciating beauty and creating desire.
