After another eventful year for the band, we can now offer a new concept. In addition to extensive touring with the whole band, Return also wants to present a slightly more ‘down’ show made for a seated audience.Knut Erik, Tore and Henning have created an unplugged show where the songs, the moods and the long history of the band are presented in an acoustic version. The trio will, of course, focus on all the hits, but also give the more unknown songs a new look. The concept is suitable for both small/medium-sized concert venues and corporate events. A quiet evening with a cosy atmosphere that just has to be experienced!
Brief history
In 1980, four boys from Stange got together and formed the band that in 1985 was named Return and won NRK's rock contest with the song ‘Sheila’. Two years later they released their first cd ‘To the top’ and the song ‘Sing me a song’ spent 56 weeks on the Norwegian charts! Throughout the eighties and nineties, Return has released 5 studio albums that together have sold over 800,000 copies. The album V was No. 1 on the import list in England, sold to gold in Japan and received very good reviews in music magazines around the world. In 2020, this album was remastered and re-released in Germany by the AOR Heaven label. In 2000, they released Best of Return, which sold more than 100,000 copies, and the band experienced a new spring throughout the 2000s. In 2005 the album ‘Return’ was released and in 2007 the CD/DVD Best of....both worlds went gold. The band regularly releases new material and confirms its position as one of Norway's most popular bands. Their 30th anniversary as recording artists was celebrated in autumn 2015 with a major concert that was filmed and released on DVD. In recent years, the band has played around 25 concerts a year and visits days, events and festivals throughout the country.
In recent years, the band has released two singles, ‘The last chorus is yet to be sung’ and ‘Back for more’, which are frequently played on Spotify and other platforms. On Spotify, they have around 110,000 monthly active listeners and 300,000 streams. Most recently last year, they received gold discs in both Norway and Sweden for the songs Bye Bye Johnny and Sing me a song. Bye Bye Johnny alone has surpassed 25 million streams on Spotify and songs like Sing me a song, To the top, Change the attitude and others follow closely behind....
The core of fans has grown a little older, but now it's the third generation of Return followers who are increasingly making a name for themselves at the concerts. We're looking forward to another great year on the road, and a Return show will always consist of familiar and unfamiliar tunes interspersed with a good dose of Hedmarks humour. Of course, the hits come in a row!
