A theatre play performed in Norwegian. A gem of a book turned into theatre: "Olaug Nilssen's novel is breath-taking" VG, 6. It is about a mother's love and struggle for a child who is different. Daniel is three years old, and his parents enjoy how he sings and talks. But one day the talking and laughing stop. The little boy changes.
His mother starts a fight, first to understand what has happened to her child, and then to get help in order to give care her son needs. Mothers should never give up, it is said, but what means acceptance and giving up?
This story has no hero. This story is a story about all of us. It is written with both humor, anger and warmth. About a mother who gives more love than a child can get. About a mother who experience heavier time than she expected. It takes place in the middle of Norway, in the middle of life, in the middle of the day.
Olaug Nilssen is one of our most vital and committed writers, and with this novel he won Brageprisen last year. He calls his book "A love story".
Riksteater in colaboration with Norwegian Theater and Kilden Theater turned this novel into a theatrical performance with Marit Moum Aune as a producer. She is one of the foremost directors, working for television, film and theater and her productions of Olaug Nilssens' books achieved the success among the audience.
