Shakai

The band was founded by bassist Eline Rafteseth in 2015, and in the spring of 2016, Shakai was one of four groups selected for the Framtida i Norsk Jazz tour. That same year, they performed at the very first Vill Vill Vest festival.

In 2018, they released their debut album “Skittles”, recorded and produced by Jørgen Træen at Duper Studio. Gaining a strong reputation as a powerful live act, they played at numerous festivals across the country.

After a few years’ break, the quintet is now back in full force with the follow-up to their critically acclaimed debut. Their second album “Fragments” has also received high praise, such as this from Progressive Rock Central:
