SONS OF ANGELS ARE BACK!

After a spectacular comeback at RaumaRock 2024, Sons of Angels are ready for new adventures in 2025! Their RaumaRock gig, following a warm-up show at Herr Nilsen, received great praise, and Norway Rock Magazine gave them a 5/6 rating:

2025 marks the 35th anniversary of their debut album, released by Atlantic Records. The band consists of two original members: Hans-Olav Solli (vocals) and Staffan William-Olsson (guitar), joined by Dag Selboskar (keyboards, Da Vinci), Svante Henryson (bass, Yngwie Malmsteen), and Kenneth Kapstad (drums, Motorpsycho). Kapstad replaces Geir Digernes, who sadly passed away in autumn 2024. The band delivers impressive musicianship and performs stunning versions of classics like Cowgirl, Lonely Rose, and Rock 'n Roll Star.

A Norwegian Rock Legend

Sons of Angels’ story is a true Norwegian rock fairytale. Founded by Lars Kilevold and Torstein Bieler in 1988, they became the first Norwegian band to sign directly with a US label, signing with Atlantic Records in 1989. Their debut album was recorded in Los Angeles and San Francisco with producer Kevin Elson (Journey, Mr. Big) and released in May 1990.

The first single, Cowgirl, topped Norwegian charts for weeks and gained heavy rotation on MTV. That summer, the band toured the USA, Germany, England, and Scandinavia.

Their debut album sold over 200,000 copies worldwide, but they left Atlantic before releasing a second album. That record, Slumber With The Lion, was finally released in 2002 on Z Records in the UK, followed by a small tour.

Today, Sons of Angels’ debut album is considered a Norwegian rock classic, with songs like Cowgirl and Lonely Rose frequently appearing on compilation albums.

The Members Today

Hans-Olav "Solli" Solli (vocals) – From Molde, previously in Araya Heep. After Sons of Angels, he joined Psycho Motel (with Iron Maiden's Adrian Smith) and 21 Guns (with Thin Lizzy’s Scott Gorham).

Staffan William-Olsson (guitar) – A seasoned musician, now mainly known as a jazz guitarist, playing with The Real Thing, Babylon Brothers, Sharp 9, Hawk On Flight, and his own trio. He also performs with Karin Krog and Øystein Sunde.

Dag Selboskar (keyboards) – Formerly of Da Vinci, later playing in Wig Wam, Støntbandet, and Eidsivating. He was part of Sons of Angels' 2002 tour.

Svante Henryson (bass) – A respected Swedish musician, skilled in jazz, classical music, and hard rock. He played with Yngwie Malmsteen during the Eclipse era (1989–92).

Kenneth Kapstad (drums) – Best known for his work with Motorpsycho and Gåte, he has played with Spidergawd, Goat the Head, Cobra Kraft, and over 50 Norwegian albums. Named NTNU Jazz Ambassador in 2014.

It's not a long walk from Ogna station to Ogna Scene (15 min) but with Ogna Scene's Shuttle bus service, they pick up and drop off their fantastic audience members who are going to Ogna Scene at Ogna train station completely free of charge.

They arrange it so that those who take the train from Stavanger will be picked up at 18.50 (approx.). From Egersund 19.36 (approx.).

They will also bring you to the station after the concert.

Ogna Scene wants to make it easy and comfortable for you.
